2008 School Fall Cross Country Series

Non-competitive youth program to introduce running to young athletes in a safe fun environment.  Focus is on having fun, competing against yourself to improve your own skill, being an encouraging teammate, and making new friends.

Six-week school program led by a PE Teacher or parent volunteers that is open to K-6th graders.  

Practices scheduled for one or more times per week, before or after school for 45 minutes. Practices consist of running games, XC workouts and a focus on fun. Runners train in ability groups with peers and move up to the next group based on race results.

Three Monday night XC meets: September 15th, 22nd, and 29th

  • Kindergartners - 1st graders - 800 meters 
  • 2nd – 6th graders - 1600 meters or 2400 meters

Runners receive results, race numbers, ribbons, series medal, and refreshments.

Parents and High School Athletes volunteer as race officials.

Events are held in parks on grass and dirt trails for 60 minutes.

Event and practice liability insurance provided by RRCA Club Membership.

Elementary schools host the training programs.  Home school students or runners whose schools do not have programs may join another school.
