We offer a non-competitive youth program to introduce running to young athletes in a safe and fun environment. The focus is on having fun, competing against yourself to improve your own skill, being an encouraging teammate, and making new friends.
The Fall Cross Country Series is a six-week school program led by a Teacher and/or parent volunteers and is open to students in kindergarden through 6th grade. The cost of the program is $49 per runner.
Practices are scheduled two or three times per week, before or after school for 45 to 60 minutes. Practices consist of running games and cross country workouts with a strong focus on fun. Runners train in ability groups with peers and move up to the next group based on improvements made during the program.
Races are held on Sunday afternoons and Monday nights depending on your location. Runners will run one race each night.
At the races, runners receive a race tag with their number, ribbons, a series medal at the final race, and refreshments. Results are posted on our website within 24 hours of completion of each race. Parents and High School Athletes volunteer as race officials. Races are held in park on grass and/or dirt trails and last approximately one hour.
Event and practice liability insurance is provided by RRCA Club Membership.
All coaches are background checked and first aid certified.
Elementary schools host the training programs. Homeschool students or runners whose school does not have a program may join any other participating school. If you need help finding a school, please give us a call at (719)623-5314.
